Hot summer days are my favorite since I can be outside. First of all there is the lake which is cool and clean. I grew up near the lake and raised my family in the same place. On a torrid day the lake is an immediate relief to be in. Plus you can play in the lake: use rafts or floats, splash or go on a boat. Around the lake are beautiful houses, trees and birds so the lake is visually relaxing. I also enjoy the many parks on a summer day. My dog and I often walk the 100 acre lot which is full of trees, creeks and native plants. You can walk a dozen trails and often discover something new each time you go. My dog loves to explore the area and we both love the exercise. By now it is apparent that plants are a big part of my enjoyment. I have an extensive garden with over a hundred plants and numerous varieties. I often love doing DIY out in my garden with my various tools - my masonry saws and various other tools - the summer makes it warm enough to work outside - and there's just so much more room to do so when you're outside. Summer is the height of bloom and therefore I am at my peak of enjoyment. I love the smells of lilies and the bright colors of the summer blooms. My garden speaks to my soul and feeds my senses. As you can see, summer is the season I revel in! |
