The United Kingdom has a different standard when renewing passports for their citizens. They categorize their passports as adult and child passport. Of course as the name goes, the adult is for people who are above 16 years old and the child passport is from 0 to 15 years old. Usually child passports are linked to its parents so that they can immediately identify the child&rsquos whereabouts and who are its parents. uk passport renewal is a lot stricter when you do it outside of the country as the information cannot be immediately crosschecked unlike when you apply for the renewal in person. Nevertheless to avoid hassles to its citizens who are working abroad, UK government has allowed for this to take place. The government has definitely caught up with the times as the forms to be filled in can now be downloaded via the internet. Submitting it online is not being done at this time because of online fraud. The government will not have sufficient evidence that it is you who is requesting for their passport to be renewed. It is still better to present your old passport and apply for your new passport in person. There is a minimal fee involved and usually there is an additional charge if you wish to have your new passport couriered. The charge will depend on where you are in the city.
